BORUSSIA DORTMUND are lining-up a shock swoop for Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil in a bid to replace Ousmane Dembele.

The Bundesliga giants collected £130million for the French winger and are aiming to reinvest it in the Gunners ace immediately.

Ozil is one of three big-name players now into the final year of their contract - along with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean forward continues to be a target for Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain and Premier League rivals Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Oxlade-Chamberlain is on the cusp of a move to either Liverpool or Chelsea.

Now German playmaker Ozil appears to be the latest star on the way out of the Emirates as Dortmund look set to launch a late bid.

Having lost winger Dembele to big-spending Barcelona last week, the Bundesliga side are aiming to bring Ozil to soften the blow.

The German midfielder has copped plenty of flak so far at Arsenal this season for his lacklustre displays.

The lethargic display set tongues wagging that Ozil could be on the way out of the North London club - with Borussia Dortmund the club in prime position to make a move.

The 84-cap Germany international spent two years at Dortmund's local rivals Schalke - his home-town club - before his switch to Werder Bremen.

Gelsenkirchen-born Ozil left the Bundesliga in 2010 to join La Liga powerhouse Real Madrid... but now could be on the cusp of a move back to his home nation.
