JUVENTUS have revealed they intend to make a move for Liverpool star Emre Can… in January.
The Germany international has become a key cog in Jurgen Klopp’s Anfield machine over the past year.
But Can’s contract expires in the summer of 2018 and there’s been no indication that he’s set to sign a new one.
That’s led to a number of admiring glances from across Europe, with the prospect of signing a young international midfielder for nothing surely too good to ignore.
However, it’s Italian champions Juventus who are believed to be in pole position for Can, with some reports going so far to claim they've already won the race for his signature.
The Serie A kings are the masters of snapping up players who are approaching the end of their club deals.
And although an attempt to sign Can this summer was rebuffed by Liverpool, Juventus are adamant they will continue their pursuit in the next window.
Turin chief Beppe Marotta told Premium Sport via : “Liverpool are holding on tight to Emre Can.

“His contract expires in June. We’ll be able to negotiate with him from January. We won’t hide the fact we like him.
“But currently he is a Liverpool player, so we can only admire him from afar.”
Juve already boast one of the fiercest midfields on the continent, with Sami Khedira, Claudio Marchisio, Miralem Pjanic and now Blaise Matuidi all competing for a starting berth.
But Can is unlikely to flinch from the battle should he move to Italy, with the star being forced to fight for his place at Anfield in recent seasons.
