ARSENAL have been dealt a major blow in their pursuit of West Brom ace Jonny Evans... as the defender would prefer to join Manchester City.
The Gunners had been hoping to land the Northern Ireland international in a bid to replace the outgoing Shkodran Mustafi.
Despite only signing last summer, Mustafi looks set to join Inter Milan on a season-long loan, with a view to a permanent deal.
Now Arsene Wenger had turned his attention to the former Manchester United defender, knowing City boss Pep Guardiola had already seen two bids turned down.
Baggies boss Tony Pulis is holding out for at least £30million for his star centre-back.
However, while Arsenal and Leicester are both keen on the defender, Evans, 29, has his heart set on Manchester City.
One spanner in the works though is that City boss Guardiola will need to sell Eliaquim Mangala in order to free up room for the Northern Irishman.
Evans only joined the Baggies back in 2015 for just £6m from Man United - but is attracting a fee of nearly FIVE times as much two years on.
