Emre Can to Juventus: Liverpool reject deadline day bid but could lose midfielder for just £9million in January
Germany international reportedly has 'no intention' of penning new Anfield contract and could be off in the next window
JUVENTUS will reportedly move for Emre Can in January after seeing a £23million bid rejected by Liverpool on deadline day.
Corriere dello Sport via claims the Serie A champs made a late offer for the player after being informed he has “no intention” of signing a new deal at Anfield.
Juventus are usually very shrewd when it comes to transfer business, and their main policy is to target top players who are nearing the end of their contracts.
Can is one such footballer, with the Germany international’s Liverpool deal set to expire in less than a year’s time.
And with age on his side, the 23-year-old represents a glorious bargain signing after becoming a key man under Jurgen Klopp.
The report adds that Can will be available for just £9m when the next transfer window rolls around.
But the midfielder will only agree to join Juventus this winter if they’ve qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Confirming his interest in Can, Beppe Marotta said earlier this week: “Liverpool are holding on tight to Emre Can.
“His contract expires in June. We’ll be able to negotiate with him from January. We won’t hide the fact we like him.
“But currently he is a Liverpool player, so we can only admire him from afar.”
