Midfielder was devastated when Barcelona move collapsed a few days ago and he has now seen second big deal fall apart

JEAN-MICHAEL SERI’S move to Paris Saint-Germain reportedly broke down because of Hatem Ben Arfa.

The Nice midfielder was believed to be on the verge of moving to the French capital on deadline day.

But Seri ended up staying put just days after his proposed switch to Barcelona also collapsed in the final stages.

And L’Equipe via claims it’s down to Ben Arfa that Seri remains at Nice, with the ex-Newcastle winger supposed to be heading in the opposite direction.

PSG had offered £14million for a year-long loan, plus Ben Arfa and an additional £23m to make the move permanent next summer.

However, Ben Arfa refused to return to Nice unless PSG paid the outstanding £6m remaining on his lucrative contract.

Unai Emery’s side rejected the proposal and thus Seri was left stranded on the south coast for another season.

The ace had previously expressed a desire to play for PSG after admitting that he was left a broken man by his failed move to Barcelona.

Seri said: “I won’t lie, this has seriously affected me. My dream was to play for Barcleona but that’s been taken away from me – and it feels terrible.

“I want to be optimistic and think that there are still options. Let the two clubs talk quietly again and come to an agreement.

“We are not talking about any club. I want to sign for big European clubs, like Juventus, PSG, Arsenal, Dortmund or Liverpool.”
