PHILIPPE COUTINHO reportedly broke down in tears after discovering his dream move to Barcelona was off.
claims the Liverpool ace was distraught when he learnt that a final £146million bid had been rejected by Jurgen Klopp.
Coutinho was apparently with his Brazil teammates when the incident happened.
And he will now have to remain at Anfield for at least another six months following a dramatic summer transfer window.
Barcelona targeted Coutinho as a direct replacement for Neymar, who left the Nou Camp for Paris Saint-Germain in a world-record £198m move.
Coutinho eventually handed in a formal transfer request as Barca failed with three consecutive bids.
But he will not be on the move after all, with both the English and Spanish markets now closed until 2018.
Whether or not Coutinho now reintegrates into the Liverpool squad remains to be seen.
