England vs Slovakia: Marek Hamsik warns Three Lions could end up in World Cup play-offs
Napoli ace is confident he and his countrymen can stun Gareth Southgate's men at Wembley and force nervy entrance to Russia 2018
ENGLAND have been warned they could end up in the World Cup play-offs.
Slovakia, who beat Slovenia 1-0 on Friday, head to Wembley tonight knowing a shock away win would see them top Group F with two games to play.
That would leave Gareth Southgate’s side with the prospect of a two-legged clash in November to reach next year’s finals in Russia.
Slovakia’s superstar Marek Hamsik is confident his country can produce the goods and stun England.
The Napoli midfielder, 30, said: “We are very proud to be sitting in second place but we think we can go higher.
“We believe we can go to Wembley and get the win, why not?
“Before qualifying started, we knew this game in England would be important.
“If you want to win the group, you have to pick up a big result and we will go for it.”

Slovakia midfielder Patrik Hrosovsky, 25, added: “England are the big favourites to finish top.
“But there is certainly a chance — if we give a similar performance to the one we gave against Slovenia.
“Then there could be a chance to come first in the group.”
