Kevin Mirallas blasts Everton for not letting him rejoin Olympiacos on transfer deadline day
Belgian winger furious he was not allowed to sign for Greek giants and accuses the Toffees of turning 'a deaf ear' to his former side
KEVIN MIRALLAS has blasted Everton for not letting him rejoin Olympiacos and accused them of "turning a deaf ear" to the Greek champions.
Belgium winger Mirallas spent two successful seasons with the Athens club before joining the Toffees for £6million in 2012.
The 29-year-old recently signed a contract extension until 2020 at Goodison Park.
But he thought he was heading back to his old club on deadline-day, only to claim Everton scuppered the move.
Boss Ronald Koeman axed him from the squad to face Chelsea two weekends ago.
Liege-born Mirallas fumed: "I really wanted to join Olympiacos.
"We did our best to reach an agreement that would suit everyone.
"Especially their chairman, Vangelis Marinakis, who did everything possible and even went beyond that.
"But Everton turned a deaf ear to them.
"I am so unhappy at not being able to return to a club I see as my home. I hope I will be able to do so in the near future.
"I have to thank all the Olympiacos fans for the many messages they sent me.
"They should know that I love their club.
