MARTIN ODEGAARD has revealed he’s signed a new contract at Real Madrid.
The 18-year-old made headlines when he joined Los Blancos in January 2015 after being chased by a large number of elite European teams.
But Odegaard made just one senior appearance for Real and was quickly demoted to the Castilla ‘B’ side.
His Santiago Bernabeu career then took a further hit when he was shipped off to Dutch minnows Heerenveen on an 18-month loan deal last winter.
But it seems Real boss Zinedine Zidane is confident Odegaard will eventually blossom and has placed his trust in the youngster by handing him a new deal.
The Norway international was set to become a free agent at the end of the season.
But he refused to be drawn on the details, with Real yet to confirm the agreement themselves.
In an interview with media outlet in his homeland, Odegaard was asked if he had indeed signed a new contract past the summer of 2018.
