Fenerbahce reportedly fail with last-ditch move to sign Manchester City playmaker David Silva
FENERBAHCE reportedly failed with an attempt to sign Manchester City's David Silva this week.
The European transfer window slammed shut nine days ago as Premier League clubs finalised their summer business.
However, the Turkish one remained open until last night.
And claim that Fener made an attempt to bring the Spanish playmaker to Istanbul.
Silva, 31, has been at City since 2010 and remains a key player for the club.
The ex-Valencia star has featured in all three matches for the Citizens so far this campaign.
Despite the wealth of options available to him, Pep Guardiola still views him as one of his main men.
Although the reports in Turkey claim that both a fee and personal terms were agreed between the player and Fenerbahce.

No deal was made public and neither club has commented on the speculation.
Silva is expected to line-up for Guardiola's side this afternoon when they welcome rivals Liverpool to the Etihad.
