MARCO VERRATTI is "not even worth £45million" according to Italy legend Francesco Graziani following his poor performances for the Azzurri.
The Italian ace, 24, had been linked with a £90m move to this summer.
After Neymar put pen to paper on a world-record shattering £198m move to Paris Saint-Germain, Barca had pursued the midfielder passionately.
However, they failed to get a move over the line and instead moved for former Tottenham flop Paulinho.
Now Verratti has come under criticism from "Ciccio" Graziani following his sub-par efforts for the Azzurri during the international break.
Italy were thumped 3-0 at the hands of Spain and then stumbled past Israel 1-0 at home, with Graziani singling-out Verratti for the failings.
Graziani - won earned 64 caps for his nation between 1975 and 1983 and helped win the 1982 World Cup - said: “Verratti does not make the difference.
"I don’t think he is even worth €50million.”

So far this season, Verratti has played four times for PSG, failing to score, being booked three times and sent-off once.
