Claudio Bravo reveals Alexis Sanchez was ‘bitter’ after move from Arsenal to Manchester City fell through as pair were together on international duty with Chile
Ex-Barcelona striker looked set to leave Emirates for the Etihad, but was forced to stay as Gunners failed to land replacement
CLAUDIO BRAVO has revealed Alexis Sanchez was left "bitter" that his move to Manchester City fell through.
The Chile duo were on international duty together as they awaited news on whether his switch from Arsenal would go through.
Sanchez, whose Gunners contract runs out in the summer, had been tipped to leave the Emirates all summer — but was forced to stay as the North Londoners failed to agree a deal for a replacement.
And Bravo, who was hoping to play alongside his international team-mate at club level, revealed: "We were talking in Chile.
"He went from happiness to bitterness in a few hours, although it's all in the past now.
"The transfer didn't happen because a player didn't go to Arsenal and everything collapsed.
"We would have loved to have him here, but the market gives you these time limits and the rush is not good.
"This time it was not possible, but hopefully we have him here in the future."
Meanwhile, Bravo was forced into action for the first time this season during City's 5-0 win over Liverpool.
He replaced Ederson midway through the first half after the Brazilian was forced off following Sadio Mane's boot to the face — for which the Senegalese ace was red carded.
And, despite having little to do against the ten men of Liverpool, he insisted it is difficult for a goalkeeper to adjust in those circumstance.
