MANCHESTER UNITED are ready to steal Thomas Lemar from Arsenal in January.
The Gunners came close to landing the French winger with an incredible £92million bid on deadline day.
Lemar didn’t fancy a move to North London, with Liverpool believed to be his preferred destination.
But Arsene Wenger is set to launch another bid for the Monaco star when the transfer window reopens.
And he could miss out again with United ready to throw their hat in the ring for one of Europe’s highest-rated stars.
Jose Mourinho is short of a winger after missing out on Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic this summer.
And, according to the , the Portuguese chief has identified Lemar as the perfect player to fill the void.
The player’s representatives are reported to be aware of United’s interest and he is believed to be open to a switch to Old Trafford.

Lemar has already seen Kylian Mbappe, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Benjamin Mendy and Bernardo Silva depart from the Monaco side that won Ligue 1 last season.
He was subbed at half-time as Monaco were thumped 4-0 by Nice on Saturday night with Paris Saint-Germain look set to run away with the French title this term.
And Lemar is likely to be tempted by a Premier League challenge with United.
Any move for the France international will likely top the £89m club-record fee shelled out for Paul Pogba last year.
