Jack Wilshere rejected switch to Turkish side Trabzonspor this summer to fight for Arsenal place
JACK WILSHERE reportedly rejected a move to Trabzonspor to fight for his Arsenal place last month.
The England international is in the final year of his contract at the Gunners.
And after spending last season with Bournemouth, he has opted to remain in North London to try and salvage his career with the club.
That is the claim from the , who say that Arsene Wenger was prepared to let the 25-year-old depart this summer.
Sunsport exclusively revealed that the Turkish side were willing to offer the midfielder an opportunity to showcase his talents and help build himself up back to full fitness.
But after assessing all his options, Wilshere decided that he was ready to fight for his Emirates future in the capital.
Trabzonspor boss Muharrem Usta told : "I held direct talks with Jack Wilshere.
"We wanted him on loan and were close to a deal but the move stalled at the last moment."

Arsenal were looking for an upfront fee of £15m to sign Wilshere permanently.
