THREE AND EASY

Manchester United 3 Basel 0: Romelu Lukaku, Marouane Fellaini, and Marcus Rashford fire Red Devils to Champions League victory

ROMELU LUKAKU netted on his Champions League debut – but Paul Pogba limped off injured.

Jose Mourinho is now sweating on Pogba’s fitness for Sunday’s clash against Everton after the Premier League’s most expensive player went off clutching his hamstring.

But Lukaku will be a certain starter against his former club as he carried on his stunning start to his Old Trafford career.

Pogba’s injury was the only negative to a straightforward evening for United, with their Swiss opponents offering little threat going forward.

Marouane Fellaini came on for Pogba and lived up to Mourinho’s billing before the Euro opener.

The Special One insisted he felt “weaker without him” when asked about the big-haired Belgian.

And he opened the scoring with 10 minutes left in the first half when he nodded in from Ashley Young’s cross.

This time it was Daley Blind providing the cross from the left flank, making it a double helping of Belgian scorers.

Marcus Rashford was introduced for his debut in the competition – and he got on the scoresheet too.

Fellaini was the creator of the goal with a cross that found its way to the far post, with Rashford scuffing a shot into the roof of the net.
