Talismanic Belgian forward could also be set to pocket a staggering £300,000-a-week as he looks to become world's best
CHELSEA are reportedly confident that Eden Hazard will sign a new contract in the coming weeks.
claims the Belgian superstar is on the verge of extending his Stamford Bridge stay to 2021.
Hazard’s current deal runs until 2020 and sees him pocket a whopping £200,000-a-week.
But Chelsea’s key man is now set to sign on for a further year after being linked with Real Madrid over the summer.
And other reports suggest Hazard’s wages will rise by £100k-a-week, making him one of the best-paid players on the globe.
The 26-year-old has just bounced back from a broken ankle and featured for 30 minutes in Chelsea’s 6-0 demolition of Champions League group stage opponents Qarabag on Tuesday night.
And after playing a crucial role in last season’s terrific Premier League title win under Antonio Conte, Hazard is now being backed to develop into world football’s best player by none other than Frank Lampard.
The Blues legend told BT Sport: “He’s the magic in the Chelsea team. If Eden Hazard’s on his game he’s got the magic that we talk about with the Messi’s and Ronaldo’s – he can get towards that level.
