Atletico Madrid to open new Wanda Metropolitano stadium with spectacular 12-hour celebrations when they host Malaga on Saturday
Spanish giants have planned huge party at the amazing venue after so far playing all their games this season away from home
ATLETICO MADRID will launch a 12-hour party as spectacular as their new Wanda Metropolitano stadium for their first match there on Saturday.
The Spanish giants take on Malaga after playing all their games so far this season away from home.
Atletico will mark the move - following 50 years at the famous Estadio Vicente Calderon venue - with an incredible day of activities.
The pitch itself was only prepared in the last few days.
And Atletico's players have been training on it for the first time this week.
In fact, the 67,703-capacity stadium will not even be fully finished until around Christmas.
But Atletico fans will eclipse their Yuletide celebrations with their festivites this weekend.
Revellers can turn up in the morning for a music festival on the south-east of the ground, with a Walk of Legends on the west.

A children's fan zone will attract supporters to the north-east of the new mega-venue.
And Atletico will also open their official store from 10am as fans are expected to pour in all day.
Pre-match entertainment includes a short show from the Air Force.
Then, whether or not there are fireworks during the evening game, there will be afterwards - with a display to light up the Madrid sky.
Later this month the sixth-placed La Liga side will host Sevilla and Chelsea in just the type of prestigious matches their special new stadium was built for.
