Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha urges Jose Mourinho to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Raphael Varane — and recounts when Sir Alex Ferguson ‘killed’ him
Frenchman was at Old Trafford for four-and-a-half seasons from 2004-08 and scored 42 goals in injury-ravaged spell
FORMER Manchester United striker has urged Jose Mourinho to sign Raphael Varane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Red Devils boss strengthened his defence with the signing of Victor Lindelof and bolstered his attack with the arrival of Romelu Lukaku, while Nemanja Matic has provided midfield solidity.
However, Mourinho insisted he was keen to bring in a fourth player.
And Saha — who scored 42 goals for United — reveals who he thinks his former club should move for.
He said: “I would go for Raphael Varane. Varane is a great defender and I think he would bring something special to the defence.
"And Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, he’s very quick and he’s got the eye for the ball all the time.
"He’s really impressed me in the last few years."
Saha joined United from Fulham in January 2004 — and admitted he had to adapt to life under new boss Sir Alex Ferguson quickly.
Despite scoring on his debut, and netting two in his second game as the Red Devils has taken a 3-0 in the first half away Everton, the Frenchman revealed the the legendary Scot still gave him both barrels during the interval.

He explained: “Once he actually killed me in front of everybody.
"It was my second game at the club. We were playing at a special ground at Goodison Park, we were freeing up so I scored two goals and I was feeling good about my situation.
"But it was the winning mentality of Alex Ferguson, I missed two sitters and I think Ruud van Nistelrooy missed one as well.
"We should have been like 6-0 up so he actually destroyed me.
"He said I’ve joined a big club now so I have to step up and realise that I shouldn’t have missed those chances.
"I was really surprised because when I heard the Scottish accent, I couldn’t really understand.
"But I understood when we finished 4-3 because of a comeback and the spirit of Goodison.”
