FRENCH football football has become embroiled in another blackmail scandal, according to reports in France — but this time it has nothing to do with a sex tape.
Paris Saint-Germain left-back Lavyin Kurzawa finds himself at the centre of the latest ordeal.
report the 25-year-old was caught on camera making disparaging comments about France manager Didier Deschamps — and he is being extorted for around £87,000.
It is claimed, Kurzawa made the comments at a shisha bar in the French capital during an evening out with his friends.
Clearly relaxed among people he felt comfortable around, he allegedly began making crude jokes about Deschamps, which would surely hinder his future with the French national team.
However, the video — which was filmed on a mobile phone — is understood to have found its way into the hands of a band of criminals.
As soon as they contacted Kurzawa to demand money in exchange for the film, he called the police.
And five suspects have now been arrested and charged.
