Paulo Dybala nets second hat-trick of season as he keeps Juventus on track — is now world No 3 after Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo?
Argentina frontman is top scorer in Europe's top five leagues so far this campaign, and is making case to be among best
PAULO DYBALA continued his sensational start to the 2017-18 campaign.
The Argentina striker has hit two trebles and ten goals so far — the most of anyone in Europe's top five leagues.
Of course, players have shone in periods over the last decade, but the remarkable consistency shown by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo means a footballer is judged more on his ability to do it again week-in-week-out.
Spots one and two are still held by the dynamic duo, who are showing no signs of letting up.
But that No 3 spot is still up for grabs — with no one making it their own since the Messi-Ronaldo Ballon d'Or duopoly started in 2008.
And, right now, is there anyone else out there above Dybala?
Despite romping to six successive Serie A titles in a row, there are still serious question marks over Juventus following their demolition by Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
On top of that, AC Milan have spent big to strengthen, while Inter Milan and Napoli look like genuine title contenders.
Juve have huffed and puffed, but maintained a 100 per cent start to the season — and Dybala has been key to it.
He was given the club's prestigious No 10 shirt over the summer, but the 23-year-old seems revitalised by the pressure.
Problems first emerged following a disappointing 3-2 loss to Lazio in the Italian Super Cup.
However, Dybala still shone despite the defeat.
Ciro Immobile gave the Biancocelesti a 2-0 lead — only for the Argentine to single-handedly drag Juventus back into it with two goals in the last five minutes.
That Lazio still managed to get a winner in stoppage time is now slant on his performance.
He scored the second in the 3-0 opening weekend victory over Cagliari — before once again dragging his side to victory.

However, two goals by Dybala saw them level by half-time.
Juan Cuadrado gave the visitors a second-half lead, but the No 10 completed his first hat-trick of the season with a lat breakaway goal.
Massimiliano Allegri opted to start this main man on the bench for the next match against Chievo.
But all that meant was the Dybala had to wait until 83 minutes to get on the scoresheet as he completed the 3-0 victory.
He struggled for service in the Champions League hammering at Barcelona — before normal service, and then some, was resumed at Sassuolo.
Not only did he score all three goals, but each one displayed a different type of quality he has in his locker.
For the first, he ran onto Mario Mandzukic's lay-off and perfectly curled a shot into the bottom corner.
His second saw him surrounded by SIX Sassuolo players, but his delicate balance and carefully thought-out touches allowed him to create enough space to poke the ball home.
And his third was a delightful free-kick, which absolutely no one was surprised to see nestle into the back of the net.
If he carries this form on, there will no doubt be a scramble for his signature next summer — with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea all keen.
But, with prices seemingly rising and rising, just what will a team have to pay now?
