Arsenal attract lowest-ever Emirates attendance for Carabao Cup clash against Doncaster

ARSENAL set a record low attendance at their Carabao Cup clash with Doncaster exactly six years to the day since their previous worst.

Just 44,064 "tickets were issued" for the match against the Yorkshire outfit on Wednesday - although the actual figure looked a lot less judging by the swathes of empty seats.

Despite the bargain price tickets on offer, tonight's turnout beat the official low of 46,539 that watched their League Cup victory over Shrewsbury in 2011.

Arsenal are notorious for their attendances - always announcing the figure as tickets sold rather than those who actually come through the turnstiles.

But surely even they would have struggled to hide their embarrassment if they attempted to confirm a crowd over those at the Shrews clash.

Blocks of empty blocks surrounded the pitch in North London as thousands opted to stay away from the match against League One Donny.

That's despite the Gunners slashing prices for the game.

Adult tickets were priced at £10 while kids could get in for just a fiver.
