Owner of Swiss Super League side FC Sion Christian Constantin attacks TV pundit and former Switzerland manager Rolf Fringer
FC Sion owner and president Christian Constantin attacked former Switzerland manager and TV pundit Rolf Fringer after a 2-1 win on Thursday.
Constantin’s Super League side had just won at Lugano, to go fifth in the table, and Constantin celebrated by exacting revenge on the out-of-work coach.
While the former Switzerland boss was delivering his post-match summary, he was ambushed, kicked, and seemed to be jabbed in his face.
Fringer claimed after the assault that Constantin’s son pounced on him first - away from the cameras - and his fuming father followed it up with a second barrage.
The TV star had struck the first verbal blows in the previous week, laying into the boss, saying: “He is a narcissist, he has zero empathy towards the world, he has no respect for others.”
After Constantin turned the row physical, he explained why he got violent.
He said: “Rolf Fringer has mistreated me this week, so I went and settled this.
"I grabbed him and I've kicked him in the backside. It felt good. When you are attacked, you have to defend yourself.”
