WAYNE ROONEY was left bleeding heavily from the eye following a fierce elbow from Simon Francis... but the referee gave no foul.

Martin Atkinson allowed play to continue at Goodison Park, but the ex-Man United forward was clearly furious as blood poured from his eye.

Standing on the sideline, Rooney gestured at the official - suggesting he had been caught with an elbow.

The incident occurred towards the end of the first-half against Bournemouth, when Rooney and Francis clashed while attempting a header.

When the ball eventually went out of play, Roo emerged with blood streaming down his face before going off for treatment.

Two minutes later, the English forward re-emerged, absolutely livid at the lack of punishment for Francis.

Just two minutes before half-time, Rooney had the cut re-opened after being bundled over by Adam Smith.

Once again, Roo was left bleeding heavily and was forced off for treatment from the Everton medics.

It's the latest bit of bad news for Rooney, after he was banned from driving for two years and handed a 100-hour community service order earlier this week.

England's all-time leading scorer was found to be three times the limit when arrested for drink-driving earlier this month.
