Paris Saint-Germain defender Thomas Meunier insists club do not depend on Neymar as Ligue 1 side draw with Montpellier
The Brazilian didn't feature on Saturday in the fixture at Stade de la Mosson as Unai Emery's side failed to carry on their 100% start in the top-flight this season
PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN defender Thomas Meunier insists his side do not rely on Neymar to inspire them to victory.
The right-back has declared PSG do not depend on the 25-year-old to collect three points, as the Ligue 1 side drew 0-0 to Montpellier on Saturday without the Brazilian.
Neymar - out with a minor foot injury - has slotted into life seamlessly in France since arriving from Barcelona for £198million in the summer.
In six appearances for Les Parisiens he has netted five times and provided five assists, so it comes as no surprise PSG missed his influence.
However right-back Meunier has credited Montpellier's resilience, and has played down speculation that he is fundamental for their success.
He said: "We don't have a Neymar dependence.
"He is an exceptional player but when you see our team, you can't say that we don't win because Neymar is not here.
"We have players who can make a difference. Individually they know how to get the team out of complicated situations.

"It was a little more difficult because we faced a team of Montpellier who gave 100 per cent."
Neymar is likely to be recalled back into the first team by Emery for the crucial Champions League clash against Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
PSG still sit pretty at the op of the table, but are just a point ahead of last seasons Ligue 1 winners Monaco.
