Inter Milan want Mesut Ozil with Arsenal superstar ‘definitely’ on the shopping list of San Siro president Erik Thohir
German playmaker has emerged as a transfer target for Italian giants with his contract expiring next summer
INTER MILAN have confirmed their interest in Arsenal contract rebel Mesut Ozil.
The Germany international is yet to sign a new deal at the Emirates with his current one set to expire next summer.
Ozil has given no indication that he will remain in north London past the end of the season.
But it could be that the playmaker leaves sooner than expected, with Inter potentially lining up a move in January.
The Italian giants have spent big over the last few seasons following their takeover by a Chinese consortium.
And Inter are now targeting a number of established names as they look to break Juventus’ stranglehold on Serie A.
However, Ozil would command a transfer fee should he end up moving to the San Siro this winter.
And Inter admit they haven’t had the greatest of experiences with previous January signings, with players forced to head straight into the action without being given any time to acclimatise.

President Erick Thohir told Metrotv.news.com via : “He [Ozil] is definitely one of those players we are looking at.
“But the last January signings of [Lukas] Podolski and [Xherdan] Shaqiri proves winter signings can fail to live up to expectations.”
Ozil isn’t the only Arsenal man who could be shipping off in the New Year, with Alexis Sanchez also unlikely to sign a new Gunners contract ahead of his 2018 expiration.
