Rijeka were seconds away from taking home a historic point after they scored two late goals to get the game to 2-2.

Milan  took the lead in the 14th minute when Andre Silva found the back of the net in the 14th minute with a stunning curling attempt.

His finish was too hot for goalkeeper Simon Sluga, as Silva's angled shot found the bottom right corner after Borini found the former Porto star.

The hosts were made to wait to double their lead, as Mateo Musacchio's close range shot made it 2-0 after Leonardo Bonucci's scuffed knockdown from a corner.

A defensive blunder at the back from the ex-Juventus stalwart saw Boadu Maxwell Acosty pull a goal back in the 84th minute.

His left-footed strike from outside the box found its way into the bottom left corner.

And in the 90th minute, Josip Elez equalised for Rijeka from the spot as he guided his attempt past Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Alessio Romagnoli was the man with his head in his hands after he gave away the penalty, only for Cutrone to get him out of jail.

The 19-year-old striker got on the end of a delightful Borini pass, before coolly chipping the onrushing goalkeeper to send the Milan faithful into bedlam.

Their win means they sit top of Group D after picking up two consecutive victories.
