BARCELONA have made a formal request to La Liga for today's clash with Las Palmas to be postponed, according to reports in Catalonia.
Voting for Catalan independence takes place today and there have been several clashes with riot police, who are reported to have been forced into using rubber bullets to disperse the crowds.
And report Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu had called an emergency meeting to "analyse the situation" — before making a formal request to La Liga.
The vote was declared illegal by Spain's constitutional court — and police are attempting to stop locals from registering.
It is understood around 38 people have been injured in clashes as the day kicks off in chaotic fashion.
