AC Milan want to replace under pressure manager Vincenzo Montella with Chelsea boss Antonio Conte
Italian gaffer has already signalled his intention to move back to his home country in the near future
ANTONIO CONTE could leave Chelsea for AC Milan at the end of the season.
The Blues gaffer dropped his biggest hint yet that he could leave the Premier League champions in the summer with an Italian radio station.
Just last week he said: "I miss Italy, that's beyond doubt, so once I have had some important and life-changing experiences, I will be back."
And sleeping Italian giants AC Milan are ready to make him offer to return to Serie A, according to reports.
Italian publication Corriere dello Sport claim Conte is their top priority to replace under pressure manager Vincenzo Montella.
Despite splashing out a wad of cash under their new mega-rich owners this summer, Milan are struggling in the league.
They sit seventh following four wins and three defeats in their first seven matches - nine points behind first place Napoli.
Montella has been tasked with qualifying for the Champions League for the first time since the 2013-14 campaign.
Conte spent three years at Serie A giants Juventus where he won the league title on each occasion.
He then left the Old Lady to manage the Italian national side before joining Chelsea.
Recently sacked boss Carlo Ancelotti also remains in the frame after he left his post at Bayern Munich.
