Arsenal transfer news: Theo Walcott emerges as January target for Italian giants Inter Milan
Winger is on the fringes of the first-team having yet to make a start in the Premier League this season
INTER MILAN are plotting an audacious January move for Theo Walcott.
The 28-year-old has found himself on the fringes of the Arsenal first-team under Arsene Wenger this season.
He has yet to start a league match but has been used in Arsenal's Europa League campaign, bagging two goals in two starts.
And Inter believe they could land a deal with the Gunners in the New Year according to Calciomercato.
Walcott, 28, has less that two years left on his contract with no plans to extend it in the near future.
Arsenal have younger forward players coming through the ranks including Alex Iwobi and Chuba Akpom who could take his place in the long-term.
And if they receive a good offer from Inter it may prove too difficult to turn down.
Walcott has been a long-term servant at Arsenal having joined the club in 2006 from Southampton.
He has scored over 100 times in 388 appearances for Arsenal but there is a growing feeling his time at the Emirates is coming to an end.
Inter are trying to get themselves back to the glory days and have started the season well with six wins in their first seven matches.
They could also join Chelsea and Liverpool in the chase for PSG's Javier Pastore.
