MANCHESTER UNITED have announced Anthony Martial as their Player of the Month after his dazzling displays helped the Red Devils rack up 22 total goals in September.
The Frenchman claimed 41 per cent of the fan vote ahead of Belgium scoring machine Romelu Lukaku.
Martial is a fan favourite at Old Trafford and was but he has had to do most of his work coming off the bench.
The 21-year-old was involved in a goal every 41 minutes during September, accumulating three goals and four assists during his six appearances in the month.
He won Man of the Match honours in United's 4-1 wins over Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup and CSKA Moscow in the Champions League after scoring in both games.
His other goal came from the penalty spot in another one of the Red Devils attacking exploits that month when they defeated Everton 4-0.
Martial capped off his big month by making his 100th appearance for the club against Crystal Palace where he marked the occasion by setting up Lukaku with United's fourth and final goal.
Lukaku is yet to win a Player of the Month at his new club but with ten goals since the start of the season he has no doubt been in contention.
The striker came in second in the voting with 31 per cent ahead of Marouane Fellaini and Marcus Rashford.
It was the third time Martial won the award after two honours during his debut campaign for the club in December 2016 and May 2016.

Along with the award Martial has been catching attention elsewhere, with French legend Thierry Henry saying the young star is "far better" than he was at 21.
He will look to build on his momentum to break into Jose Mourinho's starting lineup.
