MANCHESTER CITY and Barcelona are already reportedly preparing to battle it out to sign Borussia Dortmund star Julian Weigl.
According to the latest claims in Spain, both sides have begun plotting a summer swoop for the defensive midfielder.
Spanish publication are the ones saying that the powerhouses want to bring him in.
Weigl signed a new deal with Dortmund last December until 2021.
However, the reports states with Fernandino and Yaya Toure's deal both running out at the end of the season, City will be on the lookout for replacements.

Since his comeback on September 17 against Cologne, he has gone on to make a further four appearances in all competitions for Dortmund and scored once.
