Manchester United starlet Scott McTominay rewarded with new Red Devils contract until 2021

Academy star has risen through ranks and made first-team debut at Arsenal last season and was due to be a free agent at the end of current campaign

MANCHESTER UNITED  have announced youngster Scott McTominay has signed a new long-term contract at Old Trafford.

The 20-year-old was out of contract at the end of the season with a host of Premier League clubs monitoring his situation.

United boss Jose Mourinho has convinced the midfielder who made his first-team debut at Arsenal last season his future was at Old Trafford.

The midfielder has penned a deal until 2021, with an option to extend for a futher year.

McTominay said: "I have grown up at this great club and it has always been a big part of my life.

"I attended the club’s development centre in Preston from the age of five and have gone on to progress from there.

"To make my debut at the end of last season was a dream come true, and I would like to thank the manager for the faith that he has shown in me.
