Tottenham set to reignite interest in Everton star Ross Barkley… with Toffees willing to sell
TOTTENHAM are set to reignite their interest in Everton star Ross Barkley... with the Toffees reportedly willing to sell.
Mauricio Pochettino had been in the hunt to land the England midfielder in the summer, but failed to land his man - with Chelsea also sniffing around.
However, Toffees boss Ronald Koeman could be tempted to cash-in on Barkley in January, rather than risk losing him on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Barkley is out of contract this summer and has failed to play a single game this season through injury.
But Spurs boss Poch has a mounting injury crisis on his hands in North London - with Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele still out injured.
As Tottenham aim to finally win their first Premier League title, the Argentine boss knows he will need a deep squad at his disposal.
With the Londoners aiming to compete both domestically and in the Champions League, Barkley could be a welcome addition in January as they push on for the second half of the season.
Barkley would almost certainly be available on a cut-price deal too, owing to his current contract situation.
Rather than the £35million price-tag slapped on his head during the summer window, Barkley could now be available for closer to £20m.
Chelsea are another side who could be tempting into making a move, having seen their deadline day offer rejected by Barkley.
