WEST HAM want to replace the green astroturf around their pitch - because it is confusing the players.
The club are desperately trying to work with the London Stadium landlords for a solution, but have rejected one idea.
E20, who own the stadium were prepared to change the colour from green to blue, as it fit into the London Stadium branding, reports the .
They also wanted to ensure any colour change would not affect future bookings.
But this was rejected by the Hammers, who wanted to opt for a claret colour that fits in with its own image.
They also felt that the navy blue colour put forward is too closely associated with fierce city rivals Tottenham.
Manager Slaven Bilic has constantly asked for the colour of the outside astroturf to be changed as he believes it can confuse his players.
The Mail reports that West Ham have even offered to pay the £200,000 to replace the current set-up, but won't do that if the colour is blue.
