JADON SANCHO is missing England's Under-17 World Cup final showdown against Spain today... to play for Borussia Dortmund's Under-23s.
The former Manchester City star, 17, was recalled by the Bundesliga giants after the group stages of the tournament in India.
Sancho had scored three times in the first three games at the Under-17 World Cup - forced to only watch as England stormed to the final.
Rhian Brewster netted back-to-back hat-tricks as the Young Lions swept aside Brazil and USA - while Japan were also beaten en route to the Spain showdown.
Instead of playing in - or even watching - the game in India, Sancho was forced to turn out for Dortmund's Under-23s against Krefelder FC Uerdingen 05.
Dortmund's decision led to England Under-17s boss Steve Cooper to reveal his disappointment.
Cooper said: "Jadon (Sancho) loves playing for England and this team in particular so it's sad to see him go.
"It's a disappointment for him because he very much enjoyed his time in India and relished the chance to play in a World Cup.
"I can only imagine Dortmund want him back to play in their first team at the weekend and I assume he will be starting for them.
"I can't think of a reason why you would take a player away from a World Cup."

The fact Sancho is only playing for the Under-23s - on the day of the final no less - will be heartbreaking not only for the player himself, but for Cooper and the whole squad.
Sancho joined Dortmund in the summer in a surprising £10million switch.
The ex-City starlet came off the bench for the first-team in the 2-2 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt.
