Arsenal send scouts to watch Thomas Lemar’s superb solo strike in Monaco’s 2-0 win over Bordeaux
The Frenchman got the second after Keita Balde's 57th minute opener to move four points behind Ligue 1 leaders PSG
ARSENAL had scouts present to watch Thomas Lemar's stunning solo effort as Monaco defeated Bordeaux.
The Frenchman got the second after Keita Balde's 57th minute opener to move four points behind Ligue 1 leaders PSG.
Arsene Wenger missed out on the £90million signing of Lemar in the summer.
The Gunners made a sensational late move for the winger on deadline day.
Alexis Sanchez was expected to join Manchester City and the French boss wanted Lemar as the Chilean’s replacement.
But City refused to let Raheem Sterling go in a part-exchange deal which led to Arsenal also ending their interest in Lemar.
It seems the Gunners are still interested in the midfielder after watching him at the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux.
Arsenal legend Robert Pires believes the Gunners have lost their chance of signing Lemar.
EVERTON READY TO LAUNCH SHOCK MOVE FOR ARSENAL STAR ALEXIS SANCHEZ
Pires told : “Arsene tried to buy Lemar, and tried very hard, but I don’t think the move will happen now.
“I don’t think he’s worth £90m, it’s too much, the market is crazy. What would Zidane and Ronaldinho be worth now?!”
