Everton to make approach for Burnley boss Sean Dyche within the next 24 hours

Toffees are looking for a replacement for the axed Ronald Koeman and reports suggest they want the highly-rated Englishman

EVERTON are interested in making Burnley boss Sean Dyche their new manager, according to reports.

Sky Sports News claim the Toffees want the Englishman to replace Ronald Koeman who was axed last week.

And the report suggests they could even make an approach for Dyche within the next 24 hours.

Dyche is rated highly in the league after taking the Clarets up and leading them to a 16th place finish last season.

Sam Allardyce is the favourite to take over at Goodison Park but Dyche is a close second with the bookies.

But Dyche was quick to distance himself from any talk of a move to Merseyside after the Clarets beat Newcastle 1-o last night.

When asked his thoughts on the Everton job, Dyche said: “I just keep getting on with my job, it’s as simple as that.”
He added: “We just keep getting on with it, that’s my focus and my team’s focus.

“We have to plan in the boardroom, but generally we take it each game as it comes.”

Jamie Carragher urged Dyche to take the job if he was offered as he believes it would be a step up the managerial ladder.

Jamie Carragher reckons Sean Dyche has to take the Everton job if approached

The Sky Sport pundit said: “If he has been, or gets offered the Everton job, he has to take it. He has to.

“Maybe Burnley fans watching this tonight don’t want to hear that, but he has to.

“Sean Dyche won’t go to a team in the Champions League in this country. Everton are the next step.

“When the iron is hot I think you’ve got to strike, and you want to get to the top. The next step for him would be an Everton.”
