Romelu Lukaku is a ‘great striker’ and I’m ‘lucky to play with him’, insists Manchester United team-mate Eric Bailly
ERIC BAILLY believes he is lucky to be playing with a striker of the calibre of Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku, 24, joined Manchester United in a £75million move and got off to a brilliant start netting 11 times in his first ten appearances.
But the big Belgian has not scored in his last five outings but Bailly has backed his team-mate to get back amongst the goals.
Bailly said: "Romelu is a great striker. I have played against him but now I'm lucky to play with him.
"He is very important for us and everybody see how everything's going up for him.
"I hope he can keep scoring goals and helping us out."
Jose Mourinho hit out at United fans who booed Lukaku during their 1-0 win against Tottenham.
The Special One got jeered for replacing local lad Marcus Rashford with Anthony Martial.
OLD SCHOOL Tottenham ace Dele Alli told Ashley Young to ‘retire with a zimmer frame’ prompting Utd man to tell Spurs star ‘let me know when you win the Premier League’
Supporters also targeted leading scorer Lukaku, even though he set up Martial’s winner.
United turn their attention to the Champions League as they host Benfica at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
Mourinho's men are top of their group and still keeping pace with Manchester City in the Premier League.
Bailly added: "The Premier League is one of the best leagues with many good teams and we are getting good results.
"But we must focus on ourselves and keep going. We are playing well and winning many games."
