Chris Coleman set to stay as Wales after Real Madrid star Gareth Bale and his national team-mates urged him not to quit
The 47-year-old holds positive talks with FWA over extending his contract after performing a U-turn on decision to leave after missing out on 2018 World Cup
CHRIS COLEMAN is on course to continue as Wales boss even though his contract is up after the this month's friendlies with France and Panama.
The 47-year-old's £400,000-a-year deal with the Welsh FA expires at the end of November.
Despite guiding his nation to the European Championship semi-finals a year ago, Coleman had said this would be his last qualifying campaign in charge.
His hopes of leading his country to the World Cup were ended with a 1-0 defeat at home to Republic of Ireland in October.
However, he admitted after that loss he was considering a U-turn and had been urged by Gareth Bale and several others to stay on.
Since then he has been in discussions with the FAW over a new and improved contract until after Euro 2020.
It's believed that talks with FAW chief executive Jonathan Ford and president David Griffiths a fortnight ago went well.
They also gave assurances that Coleman's assistants Kit Symons and Ryland Morgans would be given full-time deals.
