Byrne is needed because Chorley No1 Matt Unwin is on loan from Fleetwood and cannot play against his parent club.

Now Chorley have special permission to sign him although move is still subject to international clearance and Byrne hopes to get the all clear over the weekend.

Byrne, 19, was with Manchester United as a kid and is a regular in Cardiff’s Under-21 team.
