Arsenal injury scare as Olivier Giroud appears to suffer KO in France training ahead of Wales friendly
The striker was pictured writhing on the floor in pain holding his lower leg during the session in Clairefontaine
ARSENAL have been handed an injury scare as Olivier Giroud was pictured writhing on the ground holding his leg in France training.
The striker is currently on international duty ahead of Les Blues' friendly against Wales on Friday.
And there will be some nervous times ahead of Gunners boss Arsene Wenger after Giroud was pictured lying on the grass in pain holding his lower leg.
The worrying incident came during a training session in Clairefontaine.
Giroud has proven himself to be a consistent goalscorer after netting 100 times in 237 appearances under Arsene Wenger.
But the 31-year-old is now playing back-up to club-record £53million signing Alexandre Lacazette.
And it doesn’t appear Giroud will be getting regular action any time soon following Alexis Sanchez’s reintroduction to the starting XI.
Whether Arsenal want to let the veteran go remains to be seen.

But Giroud came close to leaving for Everton in the last transfer window, which could indicate that Wenger will not stand in his way should the right move come along.
Any long-term injury could put paid to a move in January for the recent Puskas Award winner.
