MANCHESTER UNITED and noisy neighbours Man City have joined Chelsea in the race for Roma's Lorenzo Pellegrini, according to reports.
The highly-rated midfielder is on the radar of the Premier League giants having impressed for the Serie A giants.
At the age of 21, Pellegrini first attracted attention two seasons ago when he was starring for Sassuolo.
And after continuing his development last season, he earned a move back to former club Roma in a £9million deal this summer.
But his stay in Rome may be cut short as Italian publication Tutto Mercato reveal he has a £22.1m release clause in his contract.
All three Premier League sides believe he could be available at a bargain price.
Mourinho is plotting to sign a new creative midfielder with fears that his side lack a cutting edge without Paul Pogba.
Antonio Conte is also a keen admirer and hopes to use his Italian connections to fend off his rivals to his signature.
His performances have not gone unnoticed with his national side and he recently became the youngest Italian footballer to play in the recent World Cup 2018 qualifiers.
But Pellegrini may remain loyal to his boyhood club and with his development on the right tracks.
