Manchester United star Ander Herrera praises Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde to fuel Nou Camp transfer speculation
Herrera is out of contract next summer and could feel the time is right for reunion with old Athletic Bilbao gaffer
ANDER HERRERA has fuelled talk of a move to Barcelona by praising their boss Ernesto Valverde.
Reports claim Manchester United’s Spanish midfielder is being lined for a free transfer to the Nou Camp next summer.
Herrera has just over six months remaining on his Old Trafford contract, which includes an automatic one-year extension clause.
However, the player is no longer a first-team regular under Jose Mourinho and could feel the time is right to ply his trade elsewhere.
Herrera worked with Valverde at previous club Athletic Bilbao, with the pair forging a close bond at the Basque club.
And it now seems they could be set for a reunion at Barcelona, with Herrera telling Panenka: “I feel a great admiration for Valverde.
“He shows that you can be a great coach while being a very great person.”
