Ruben Loftus-Cheek goes off injured for England against Brazil after just half-an-hour
The on-loan Crystal Palace man was the star man in England's previous game against Germany
RUBEN LOFTUS-CHEEK picked up an injury after just over 30 minutes playing for England in their friendly against Brazil.
The on-loan Crystal Palace midfielder was replaced by Manchester United man Jesse Lingard.
It will come as a bitter blow to Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate following the 21-year-old's man-of-the-match performance in Friday's 0-0 draw against Germany.
He appeared to pick up the injury after being accidentally kicked by an opponent, and despite trying to shake it off, made an early exit at Wembley tonight.
And it appeared to be an injury to his lower back.
It will come as a worry to Crystal Palace, with him being one of the talents charged with dragging the Eagles off the bottom of the Premier League.
Loftus-Cheek is on-loan at the basement club until the end of the season.
The midfielder's injury was lamented by footy fans on social media.
Some described him as a sicknote - he has struggled with injury in his young career, while overs said the exciting youngster coming off was the sign to switch over to Ireland versus Denmark.
Adam Mortimer described him as the "only exciting thing about this game".
