Manchester United announce quarterly revenues of £141million freeing up money for transfers

MANCHESTER UNITED have announced quarterly revenues of £141million - up 17 per cent from the first quarter of 2017.
And debt has fallen to £268.1m, down almost 21 per cent from the same period last year.
Executive vice chairman Ed Woodward said: "We are just over a quarter of the way through what promises to be another exciting season.
";In the Champions League we have won all four games played to-date; we are through to the Quarter Final of the Carabao Cup; and are looking forward to the next few months as the number of matches ramps up.";
The figures relate to the period between July and September of this year.
Some key factors taken into account include the signings of Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic.
The pre-season tour to America was another factor boosting revenues.
For the upcoming fiscal year, the club expect total revenues to be between £575m and £585m.
Matchday revenue for the quarter was £22.4m, an increase of £5.6m, or 33.3% over the prior year quarter, primarily due to playing two additional home games across all competitions.
