Roma 2 Lazio 1: Radja Nainggolan scores winner as Giallorossi extend winning run to five games

AFTER a timid opening 45 minutes, Italy's fiercest derby finally burst into life as three goals were scored in the second half.

Roma extended their winning run to five straight league wins, with goals from Diego Perotti and Radja Nainggolan.

The win also sees Giallorossi leapfrog Lazio and Inter Milan into third place.

After a slow start and an early scare, Roma made the breakthrough on the 49th minute after Aleksandar Kolarov was brought down in the box, Perotti confidently stepped up to give the hosts the lead.

After smelling blood, Roma applied intense pressure on Lazio and dominated large chunks of the second half.

Midfielder Nainggolan then sealed the victory for Roma four minutes later with a thunderbolt of a shot from just outside the box.

Lazio did put on a spirited late display and were awarded a soft penalty after Kostas Manolas handled the ball in the box.

From the resulting spot kick, Ciro Immobile stepped up and walloped the ball in, scoring his 15th league goal of the season.

The defeat sees Lazio drop down a place to fifth position in the Serie A league table.
