Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang recalled by Borussia Dortmund for Tottenham clash after club suspension
PIERRE-EMERICK AUBAMEYANG has been recalled to the Borussia Dortmund squad for the upcoming clash with Tottenham.
The Gabon-born striker was suspended by the club for Friday's night crucial clash with Stuttgart following an unauthorised trip to Barcelona.
And his absence proved costly as BVB lost 2-1 to leave Peter Bosz's job hanging by a thread.
So Aubameyang's return will be a welcome boost for the visit of group leaders Tottenham.
Whilst only a calamitous Spurs collapse would see the 2013 finalists progress to the last-16, they need something to ensure they at least finish third.
And that would see them go into the Europa League.
Dortmund have been on a horrendous run of form, having lost their last three Bundesliga matches to fall from top spot to fifth in the league.
And their Champions League campaign has been shocking — with their only points coming against minnows Apoel.
However, they failed to secure a victory against the Cypriots and two 1-1 draws means they don't even have the advantage on the head-to-head record.
A point against Tottenham should be enough to clinch third spot.
