Sven Mislintat joins Arsenal as head of recruitment after leaving Dortmund
Mislintat, 45, replaces Steve Rowley - who gave 25 years of service to the Gunners - and becomes club's new head of recruitment from December
ARSENAL have confirmed the appointment of Sven Mislintat as their new head of recruitment.
Current chief scout Steve Rowley has stood down after 25 years' service and the Gunners have acted fast to bring in his replacement.
In a statement, the Gunners were quick to point out Mislintat "is credited with creating the pipeline of young talent at Dortmund which has produced the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Shinji Kagawa and Ousmane Dembele."
Arsene Wenger added: "We are delighted that Sven is joining us. Identifying and developing talent is a core part of our philosophy and Sven has an outstanding track record over many years.
"We would like to thank Steve Rowley for all his hard work over many years for the club.
Mislintat had a contract at Signal Iduna Park until 2021, and had been with the club since 2007.
He has also been credited for the discovery and signing of Robert Lewandowski from Lech Poznan.
Bild also report that Bayern Munich were keen on nabbing Mislintat, but he will not be the latest star to move to their rivals.

Lewandowski, Mats Hummels and Mario Gotze have all made the switch to the Allianz Arena in recent years, though Gotze has since returned to Dortmund.
Mislintat's signing comes after a fantastic weekend for Arsenal fans, after Arsene Wenger's men beat rivals Tottenham 2-0 at the Emirates on Sunday.
And with Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil's future still unclear, Mislintat will have an influence on the Gunners' business in January.
