EVERTON have been fined nearly £26,647 by Uefa after a fan holding a child punched Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes.
The incident occurred during the Europa League clash at Goodison Park on October 19, and the Toffees swiftly moved to ban the fan.
Everton defender Ashley Williams sparked a melee when he needlessly challenged Lopes when he had the ball comfortably in his hands.
Lyon players reacted and a home fan joined in by throwing a punch at the stopper, while holding a child with his other hand.
An Everton statement following the incident insisted action had been taken against the supporter which would "include a ban from attending future Everton fixtures".
It has been an unspectacular return to Europe for the Toffees — with no wins so far.

But this is the second occasion in which they have been fined by Uefa this season.
In September, they were ordered to pay £8,837 for trouble in the first leg against Hajduk Split.
Everton were battered 3-0 by Atalanta in their opening group game before conceding a late equaliser at home to Apollon Limassol.
The subsequent back-to-back defeats against Lyon mean they are out.
