Mesut Ozil set to miss Arsenal clash with Huddersfield with illness that ruled him out of Burnley win

Germany midfielder could be in the last six months of his Gunners career as he contract is up at the end of the season

MESUT OZIL is set to miss Arsenal’s must-win clash with Huddersfield on Wednesday night with illness.

The German midfielder was missing for Saturday’s last-gasp win over Burnley when Alexis Sanchez fired home an injury-time penalty to keep Arsene Wenger’s men in the title race.

And the former Real Madrid man – who is out of contract in the summer and looks set to leave the Emirates – does not look like making a quick enough recovery.

When asked about his mercurial playmaker, Wenger said: “I haven’t even seen him.

“The doctor came to see me and said he had to travel back home, he was in the hotel with us.

“He travelled up with us, then travelled back.

“We brought Maitland-Niles up who arrived at 1pm because we had only 17 players.
